π¦ HAPPY MOTH DAY!!!!! π¦
Hi Friends and family!
This week was a lot of fun and we made lots of progress! We tried some new things and had some interesting experiences.. but we were able to connect with our members more.
On monday we went on a good hike up to a dam and then to a redwood forest! That was a lot of fun! Then later that night we had a full mission conference. I was definately able to feel President and Sister Platts love for us as we discussed high expectations and how we can become the best missionaries we can be.
Tuesday was a normal day to weekly plan and had a lesson with Juana and Vero! Oh my goodness I don't know if I can express how much love and joy I feel every time I talk with those two! They are two of our gestures that Sister Wickens and I have lessons with every week. It always feels so good to talk about the basic principles of the gospel and see the strong testimonies of Juana and Vero. They make my day brighter.
Wednesday we had a primary activity and got to know some of the kiddos better! It was a lot of fun! We had a pretty good turn out and I even got to practice my tactile signing with the grandma of a lot of the kids. (tactile is what we do with people who are deaf and blind. They hold onto your hands while you sign and that's how you communicate. It's pretty fun!) Then later that night we took some pictures for an ad we're making for a YSA activity! It was a super fun activity so hopefully the YSA of our branch will think so too!
On Thursday we helped paint some picture frames for mothers day. While doing that our member wrote down "Moth Day" on a frame and we thought it was the greatest thing. Sooo we glued some butterflies aka moths to the frame and had a Moth Day celebration XD. Later that day we went and tried to go park contacting.... about 3 awkward conversations in I decided that I'm not the best at this and we'll need to practice this a lot more... hahah. But I guess we got some good things to laugh at now so that's always a party!
Friday we hosted a Deaf Block!!! A deaf block is a social event for deaf people and we're trying to set up a new one. We got a few families to come and hopefully the word will spread soon! It was a lot of fun to chat with people and get to know new people!
On saturday we went back up to the redwood forest to film for our FB Page. Sister Wickens and I did a cute little object lesson about testimony so if your curious keep your eyes out for our FB page! They are actually starting to post more so Shameless Plug: Go look at Church of Jesus Christ in Orange County Deaf on FB!!!!!! XD
Anyway there's a long spew of my week! Hope yall had a good one! Love you!!!y
